Gentlemen,

In reply to your letter of the 16th instant

E.261/10 enclosing a copy of a letter from the Colonial

Office in which they suggest that we should consider whether

it might be possible to arrange for the necessary carriages

to be built at the Federated Malay States Railway Workshops

at Kuala Lumpur, as wo have since heard from the Chief

Resident Engineer in General Letter No.74 dated 13th Woven-

ber that arrangements have been made to construct the

carriages locally, we do not suppose that the Earl of Crewe

desires us to look further into the matter.
